Disappointed

I purchased this a couple of years ago and have had problem after problem with it not working correctly. I have sent it in to be fixed yet the problems continue. I have backup Canon Rebel t1i and continue to use that more often and it works fantastic. I am really disappointed in the 70D.

Canon's flagship APS-C camera finally delivers on the video DSLR promise-with a catch.

Since Nikon released the D90 in 2010, the promise of a do-everything, video-capable DSLR for consumers has largely gone unrealized. While practically every DSLR can shoot full HD video these days, none have made capturing everyday clips the accessible, convenient experience that it is on camcorders...

Canon EOS 70D: Review

In many respects, the Canon EOS 70D is an amazing camera. The flurry of 7 fps, with infinite buffer (or almost) and continuous autofocus, it is a strength indisputable, especially when you consider that the scanned files are 20 megapixels.

Excellent image quality; Excellent AF (also in Live View; 7 fps burst; Swivel touch screen; Good video mode

Placement of some keys improved; One SD slot; No AF-assist lamp

Dual Pixel AF sensor delivers the best AF performance for a DSLR during live view; 19-point AF system is excellent; High quality touchscreen interface; Image nosie performance; Solid constructino; Wi-fi connectivity

Creative filters only active during live view (and JPEG only); AWB can deliver too neutral results on some occasions

Canon EOS 70D DSLR Review

The new dual pixel AF feature noticeably improves focus during video and live view, as promised, this will be particularly impressive and useful for those who shoot with Canon lenses for video or live view use, although at the expense of battery life, which drops dramatically from the otherwise...

Excellent colour; Excellent vari-angle 3inch touch screen; Focus in video; Lens correction; Electronic level (although not dual axis; Excellent battery life (when not using live view; Solid body with good handling; Playback image star ratings; Q.

1 year warranty; No AF light - AF-assist uses flash; Images lose detail at ISO3200; JPEG results can appear soft; EOS Remote Utility limited

Canon EOS 70D Review: Video Rock Star

Switch the 70D into video mode, however, and all bets are off. While the 60D didn't offer continuous AF for video capture, the 70D does so, and does so with a vengeance. Continuous AF shooting video with the 70D is simply the best DSLR performance I have ever had my hands on, regardless of camera...

Good still image quality; Good ISO noise performance; Latest generation processing engine and technology; Touchscreen monitor offers quick control response; Exceptional DSLR video performance due to continuous AF

72 dpi still image output requires resizing for printing; Touchscreen monitor collects fingerprints and smudges; impairing legibility in bright conditions; Camera seems to lose highlights to a higher degree than the 60D at default settings

Fast autofocus and tracking in video and live view; Easy one-handed operation for essential settings; Wi-Fi equipped for photo transfers; remote control; Very sharp images and accurate color

Tedious wireless and white balance controls; Somewhat bulky
