The Canon EOS 70D was an amazing release by Canon. Its update, the Canon EOS 80D, is a great camera but it feels like the company didn't do enough to make it stand out on its own with new features. Still a great camera for beginners, but are you willing to pay the extra cash to have one?

First impressions of the 70D were underwhelming. It looks just like a 60D and IQ not much different either. A big omission was the lack of GPS which was highly annoying as its on the FF 6D; so I expected it on the 70D The touch screen is little more that a gimmick for the benefit for the camera...

Paying more for a camera isn't going to get you anything more, unless you really want a larger camera or auto LCD backlight control or all three "C" preset settings...

How do you guys think the video quality and capabilities of the Canon 70D compares to the Panasonic GH3? Thank you in advance for any information you can give! The GH3 shoots 1080 60fps. That's one significant advantage. In your Review Techs Specs you say "VideoOut: HDMI (monitor and recording)".

Useful as camera backup, AF dual cmos, great for video work. low light is limited to ISO 6400 in video mode. it records 29 minutes.

The Canon EOS 70D DSLR camera is the successor to the EOS 60D and has many new features and improvements. The 60D was a very groundbreaking camera for Canon . It featured an articulating screen, an increase in ISO range, and was the first of Canons cameras to offer full HD video.

An overall excellent camera, but one that fails to capture the best-in-class prize for image quality.

The Canon EOS 70D's new sensor delivers excellent autofocus performance and the camera itself is quite fast; Its design is reasonably streamlined and the feature set appropriately tailored to the target market as well.

The image quality doesn't overly impress for this price class; and certain aspects of the design -- notably single card slot; hard-to-control multicontroller and the Wi-Fi/movie mode conflict resolution -- are annoying.
