It seems at odds with these hard times that new cameras are released more frequently than ever, with people seemingly having enough cash to splash out on new camera kit. One section of the camera market that is particularly busy and competitive is that of the entry-level DSLR.

Improving on the 1000D, the Canon 1100D features a larger 12.2Mp APS-C 12.2Mp CMOS sensor and a 1.6x crop factor, meaning the 18-55mm kit lens is equivalent to 28.8-88mm in film terms.

The Canon 1100D offers a good shooting experience for a great price, with enough features and functions to satisfy SLR beginners. Compared to the competition though, the 1100D falls behind the pack in terms of top-line specifications and overall build quality.

Verdict: Although the EOS 1100D looks and feels its budget price tag, it is a capable SLR that offers great photographic results.

The viewer is blurry even if the photo comes out in focus. I am basically shooting blind and hoping the picture ends up in focus. Definitely not worth the $$. The automatic focus also is unreliable.

starting with dslr and reflex, got exverything i need in this camera, size is good not too big not too small , only thing who is missing and shoudn't it's the infrared exept that it's a very good starter camera

I bought this camera for my nice who is studying filmmaking in Argentina. Easily unpacking and ready to use right away. Awesome video resolution, crispy image and great sound. This camera is very light and and easy to handle. Very happy for this purchase.

I like the ease in which to use the special feature knob.I also like the ease of downloading of pictures from the camera to the printer or computer and printing pctures as I select which them.

The camera information displayed on the rear screen is very helpful when shooting a special shot.
