I bought this lens for my new 70D because of video and found it quite acceptable and very good for the price. It works well on auto focus in video mode.

The lens is fantastic. It's quiet... so quiet that I didn't believe it was focusing until I purposefully changed perspectives a number of times to ensure that it was. That quiet and speed of focus makes it a great low-end lens for shooting video with a moving target. The kit items are okay.
The third version of Canon's image-stabilized 18–55mm APS-C-format kit zoom, the new EF-S 18–55mm f/3.5–5.6 IS STM ($249, street) is the first with an STM focusing motor that complements the Movie Servo mode in newer Canon DSLRs.
I bought this a a replacement for the original lens that came with the camera. It seeemed to be just as good as the one that it was meant to replace
The Canon EF-S 18-55mm IS lens adds image stabilization to the company's older kit lens, though otherwise it and its predecessor are basically the same. It's compatible with all Canon EF-S digital camera bodies, such as the EOS Rebel XSi and EOS 40D , but it won't fit on the EOS 5D or any cameras in...
Optical image stabilization delivers sharper handheld photos at slow shutter speeds; lightweight, compact, and affordably priced; good optics for its class
Poor manual focus ring design; plastic construction less desirable than metal; 55mm maximum focal length may leave you short
i cant believe how quiet the focus motor is in this lens, its extremly quiet. i think that trying this for video will be a whole different experience.
Very fast delivery, properly packed and came in very secured. Good job.
I originally purchased the 18-55mm IS II from Canon (it came with a T4i bundle). That lens recently broke so I needed to find a replacement and after doing lots of research of lens in that range I decided to give the STM version a try. This lens is sooo much nicer than the IS II version.
T3i purchased after long consideration given to cost and options...Best choice in a camera for this 45 year plus career photographer among the last four digital purchased.
I accidentally ordered the wrong lens for my Canon Rebel T2i; I emailed Photo 4 Now to let them know that I had made a mistake; The gentleman over the phone was very understanding and exchanged my lens for the one I originally meant to purchase
I can't think of any
