With their QuietComfort 45, Bose are committed to a consistent product: these new over-ears come with active noise cancelling (ANC, noise suppression), long battery life and great sound. Compared to the competition, however, they lack some important features. Will it be enough?
I may be a little bit unusual in having both these and the Sony XM4s, but to me these feel a bit lacking in terms of sound quality - nothing feels quite as 'alive' and punchy as it does with the XM4s. On the other hand, the sound isn't bad, and the noise cancelling is excellent.
While the QuietComfort 45 are good in many ways, particularly comfort and noise cancelling performance, they are missing a lot of features we'd expect from a pair of flagship headphones.
Light and comfortable; Effective noise cancelling; Solid battery life;
No ANC adjustment; Lacking smart features; Plasticky build;

QuietComfort 45 is essentially a QC35 II with ambient sound - and USB-C.

The sound is perceived as slim, noise reduction has a bit of a hiss and can also not be turned off without simultaneously activating ambient sound, Not waterproof.
Love these headphones. Every feature brilliant. I recharge for a few minutes (when I'm in the middle of a podcast and just have to listen to the end) and it's almost 100% charged. Amazing. Sound is clear and rousing.
The Bose QuietComfort 45 deliver on their promise of quiet and comfort but are light on smart features
Class-leading comfort; Highly effective noise cancellation; Aware mode works well;
